You never know when something might come your way that will open up certain opportunities. I never thought I’d host the entire Sacramento Kings Dance team at my studio this year. We started the day at the pool at Revival at the Kimpton Swayer hotel in Sacramento. Maybe this deserves it’s own blog post for now lest stay focused on the studio shoot.
I arrived at noon having just wrapped the pool shoot at Revival. Kara had done a Chipotle run for me, thankfully, I got a few bites in and the first round of veteran dancers showed up to my studio. We had hair and make up artists in three different rooms and the vibes were high.
We photographed individual shots for each dancer with a mostly dark gray backdrop and set. Individually, we knew that their personality had to come through as dancers or it would just look like a fashion shoot. We needed some action in the poses.
The 2025 season is here and the dancers are ready for opening night.
